Spring?

We're looking for some sign...ANY sign of spring! It's snowing AGAIN.

Playing Dress Up

The other day, a friend of mine gave us a trunk of dress-up clothes and a stack of plastic drawers filled with play earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, glasses, shoes, crowns, hair clips...well, you get the picture.
It was an incredible gift for a family of two big boys and one little girl!
Lily dug right in. She loved the beads and the hair clips.
Actually, the boys loved it too as they dressed up their favorite stuffed animals.

Thank you Eileen for the wonderful gift!

We're thinking about getting a pet...

Sammy wants a pet penguin. It may be his way of telling me he really digs this cold, snowy weather without making me raise my eyebrows.

In any case, when he told me he wanted to get a penguin, I replied "where will we keep him?"

Logically, he replied, "in an ice cage."

Of course I had to ask "what will we feed him?" "Krill," he said.

Duh...of course...penguins eat krill. I knew that!

How did he get so old?

I took a few shots of Joey the other day. When I took a look at them, I realized how old he is starting to look. These are the first photos that, I feel, really capture Joey's zest for life in his smile and in his eyes. But I also feel they are the first photos of a new stage in his life--he is no longer a little boy (although he still acts like one!). Suddenly, the time seems to have gone by so quickly...

Finally!

Lily's hair is just long enough to make two tiny little braids! Of course, this picture is taken after a long day and they are starting to unravel, but there it is...a teeny, tiny braid!

Year of the OX

We enjoyed having family over to celebrate the Year of the Ox! We had traditional food (as well as some not so traditional), played Chinese checkers, colored dragon masks and learned a little about the traditions of the Chinese New Year.

The girls were all pretty excited to wear their Chinese dresses. Unfortunately, since I can't seem to get the hang of my new camera, the best shot of the three of them doesn't really capture their dresses!

And Jack didn't want to be left out of the picture!

Cousin Kara colored a beautiful dragon mask

We had a lot of fun and thank you all for joining us on Chinese New Year!
