74/365 A Girl's Best Friend

lily and izzy

When Lily gets home from preschool, Izzy jumps all over her, licks her and basically just gives her all kinds of love. Lily speaks to Izzy in her own version of "mother-ease--" a voice that is so high, it's almost out of the range of human hearing.

I just love the friendship these two have together. Today, Lily happily announced that she and Izzy were the only two adopted children in the house!

Project 64--Apricot

Here is my contribution to Project 64 this week. The color is Apricot.

Our puppy, Izzy, is the product of an apricot poodle and a golden retriever. Today, she is almost completely white with apricot hints, but when she was a puppy, she was almost all apricot in color.

32/365

I have to admit, I never thought I would make it to February with the photo-a-day project. But here were are on February 1 and I still have photos to contribute!

And, since we are waiting for the snowstorm of the century to hit (up to 2 feet by tomorrow at this time), I assume I'll have lots of outdoor snow shots in the next several days.

While I am a bit relieved that the kids have gone back to school...someone else is feeling a little sad...

In which craft projects get eaten...

Last year, the boys and I made these awesomely cool sugar skulls after a trip to the National Museum of Nexican Art in Chicago.

This year, the adorably cute puppy (who will turn 1 on Halloween), ate one of the awesomely cool sugar skulls...this one in particular:

Sadly, the sequins, frosting and sugar did not sit well with the adorably cute puppy's tummy, but I did not take a photo of that.

Ring them bells!

Five weeks ago, we started training Izzy to ring bells by the door when she needs to go out.

Her last accident was last week.

One year ago this month, I started potty training Lily.

Her last accident was a few hours ago.

Now I know what you're thinking, because I've been thinking the same thing.

We'll keep her

izzy

She chews on shoes and dirty tissues. She runs like a thief with stray socks left on the floor. She needs to go out a dozen times a day yet hates going for even the shortest of walks. She greets you at the door after an hour away with the excitement of, well, a puppy. She loves to curl up in your lap like a little stuffed animal. The good and the bad. Whatever it is...we'll keep her.

PUPPY!

Izzy is in the house!

We are smitten.

I had no idea I could watch a dog chew a bone for so long and be completely entertained.

Anticipation...

Seriously? How can we not be excited about having this little face join our family?
