Lily-speak

Daddy, when you're feeling frustrated and you just can't understand her, here is a short dictionary of Lily-speak at 2 years old:
ba=bye
boop=book (pronounced as the double oo in book)
boop=poop (same as above)
bup=cup
bop=stop
bo=spoon
bip=chip
da=done
da=down
na=no
ni=milk
mo=more
peas=please
mam=Sam
JoJo=Joey
LaLa=Lily
me=ME! Oh yeah, she's got that one down.

Now, some people are surprised that I can understand Lily (Daddy included). I simply don't get that at all. I mean, how can you not understand:

"na ni mo bip?"
(You cheated Rob, you looked at the key above.)

OR my personal favorite:

"da boop" ("done pooping," or if you have the contextual clues--i.e. book-in-hand--"done with the book")

I would say the past 9 months of speech therapy have been totally worth it...wouldn't you?

Too funny! Your Lily's speech doesn't sound too different than my Lily's speech.

Here are a few additions from our house:
moop=move
si oo me=sit next to me
mik = chocolate milk, I guess the chocolate is inferred!
