Lily-speak
Daddy, when you're feeling frustrated and you just can't understand her, here is a short dictionary of Lily-speak at 2 years old:
ba=bye
boop=book (pronounced as the double oo in book)
boop=poop (same as above)
bup=cup
bop=stop
bo=spoon
bip=chip
da=done
da=down
na=no
ni=milk
mo=more
peas=please
mam=Sam
JoJo=Joey
LaLa=Lily
me=ME! Oh yeah, she's got that one down.
Now, some people are surprised that I can understand Lily (Daddy included). I simply don't get that at all. I mean, how can you not understand:
"na ni mo bip?"
(You cheated Rob, you looked at the key above.)
OR my personal favorite:
"da boop" ("done pooping," or if you have the contextual clues--i.e. book-in-hand--"done with the book")
I would say the past 9 months of speech therapy have been totally worth it...wouldn't you?

A Momentous Day!
How many times can one person cry during the inauguration of a new president?
Let's see...
When the President-elect gets in the limo,
When the President-elect gets out of the limo,
When the President-elect and his wife enter the White House,
When they exit the White House,
When they smile,
When they shake hands,
When President Carter and his wife Rosalyn are shown (Lily's middle name Rose, is for her, her first name for Carter's mom, Ms. Lilian),
When the Marines salute (go Zack!)
When the military band plays a marching tune...

When the girls take the stage...
In other words, I'm a wreck and the actual ceremony hasn't even begun. Lily just keeps yelling "no, no, no, no, no, no, mama!"

Chapped lips
What does it take to get rid of a really stubborn case of ring-around-the lips? Can I "Shout" it out?

Happy New Year 2009!
What a difference a year makes!
(The flash in her face is less than flattering.)
Joey and Daddy had fun ushering in the New Year...
Where's Sammy? Apparently, Sammy was working on his New Year's resolution. Here he is doing sit ups (while the rest of us were drinking sparkling grape juice and dancing). Since we did not talk about resolutions until New Year's Day, I have NO idea where he got this idea.
